Dreaming of a beautiful, functional outdoor space? Landscape Design – Begin with a Dream, a talk by Master Gardener Cindy Gilbert, will show you how to blend the art of design with the practicalities of gardening to create a usable, visually appealing space that complements our local ecosystem.
Sponsored by the Transylvania County Extension Master Gardeners, this free presentation is part of the monthly program of talks and demonstrations designed to interest Master Gardeners, amateur gardeners, and the general public.
Cindy’s presentation is designed to help attendees turn their garden vision into reality. She will guide you through:
• Defining your dream garden with a summary statement of its intended uses and possibilities.
• Evaluating your current landscape, noting both its strengths and challenges.
• Getting inspired to create spaces of different sizes and purposes.
• Selecting the right materials for your specific design.
The core philosophy is to start small but think big, observing the results of your efforts, making revisions, and repeating the pattern until your landscaping goals are met.
Cindy Gilbert is a retired landscape designer, city planner, and passionate lover of all natural things. As a Master Gardener volunteer, she will share classic design fundamentals with a simple, respectful twist tailored for Western North Carolina’s rich plant diversity and natural features. She encourages successful design with greater knowledge about gardening, specifically in Transylvania County.
Join us on Tuesday, October 14th, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the Community Services Building Conference Room, 106 E. Morgan St, Brevard
