Collapse ▲The goal of this program is to provide resources quickly while making reasonable efforts not to duplicate other funding sources. These funds are meant to assist legitimate farm businesses with urgent needs that will directly impact the ability to get the farm business back in operation as soon as possible.
Attached is the PDF version of the grant application. We will be accepting hand-delivered, emailed, and online applications (see application for details). Applicants who want to apply online can do so by clicking this link:
Also attached is a Partner Referral Guide that outlines the pre-qualifying process for applicants in Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Madison, Macon, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, Watauga, Yancey.
We realize that not all of these counties were affected by the storm, but these are the counties within WNC Communities’ service area.
We will be setting up “support stations” at the following locations, which will be staffed by someone who can help farmers fill out applications and get them back to WNCC. This might be a good option for those who do not have the ability to fill out the online applications or even receive the application through electronic means.
- Avery County Cooperative Extension: 661 Vale Rd., Newland
- Buncombe County Cooperative Extension: 49 Mount Carmel Rd., Asheville
- Henderson County Cooperative Extension: 100 Jackson Park Rd., Hendersonville
- Madison County Cooperative Extension: 258 Carolina Ln., Marshall
- WNC Regional Livestock Center: 474 Stock Dr., Canton
- WNC Communities: 594 Brevard Road, Asheville
We are still in the process of setting the dates and hours for support at these locations. We also hope to include other stations.
