Collapse ▲Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 18th, as we invite all Transylvania County 4-H members to join us for our annual showcase event, County Activity Day 2024! This exciting event is an opportunity for members to demonstrate what they have learned throughout the year. Whether through presentations, posters, or exhibits, we welcome everyone to participate and showcase their skills.
What’s New This Year?
- Awards: We’re introducing awards for Volunteer and Members of the Year to recognize outstanding contributions to our 4-H community. Nominate someone by downloading, filling out, and returning this form.
- Scheduled Presentations: Presentations will be scheduled by sign-ups, allowing for a smoother and more organized event.
- Poster Exhibits: Poster exhibitors do NOT have to present; posters will be dropped off and judged like exhibits.
- Expanded Exhibit Categories: We have expanded exhibit categories to include crafts, horticulture, baking, and more!
Schedule of Events
Thursday, May 16th:
Presentations and poster/exhibit drop-off from 2-6 p.m. @ the Extension Office.
Friday, May 17th:
Presentations and poster/exhibit drop-off from 2-6 p.m. @ the Extension Office.
Saturday, May 18th:
Poster and exhibit open-house from 12-2 p.m. @ the Extension Office. Awards ceremony held at 2 p.m. @ the Board of Elections building. Exhibit/poster pickup to immediately follow the ceremony.
General Information
- Earn Cloverbucks: Each entry earns 5 Cloverbucks, which can be used towards 4-H program fees or swag.
- Category Entries: Members can enter as many categories as they wish but only submit ONE entry per category.
- Judging: All entries will be judged, and ribbons will be awarded to the highest placing submissions. (Cloverbuds are not judged and will earn participation ribbons)
- Eligibility: The event is open to any Transylvania County youth, but they must be enrolled in 4-H before the event date to participate.
- Guidelines: For complete guidelines in each category, please refer to the 2024 County Activity Day Handbook.
