The "Science of Life" in Action
As a Registered Dietitian, Erin focuses on making research-based health practical for busy families. You might catch her in the kitchen teaching the bubbling science of Sourdough and Fermentation, or showing residents how to safely Can and Preserve their harvest. Her work extends beyond the kitchen, too; she’s just as likely to be found leading Chair Exercises for seniors, educating about Radon to keep local homes safe, or helping neighbors navigate the complexities of Medicare through the SHIIP program.
Professional Expertise Meets Personal Experience
Erin’s workshops are backed by a career built at the intersection of agriculture and medicine. She began her path in Asheville with ASAP, connecting children with local produce, before moving into a clinical role at Advent Health Hospital. There, she served as an Oncology Dietitian and developed the nutritious patient menus that are still in use today.
Today, she brings that same level of clinical precision to her neighbors here in the county. As a local resident raising three children under the age of five, and with a husband serving as the county’s Building and Permitting Director, Erin understands the real-world juggle of keeping a family healthy. Whether she is facilitating the PIE (Parenting Independent Eaters) program or teaching how to Grow and Cook with Herbs, she is dedicated to providing the tools her community needs to thrive.
A Message from Erin: "Life is busy! Whether I’m helping you meal prep on a budget, understand your healthcare options, or just keep your sourdough starter alive, I’m here to make those daily tasks a little easier and a lot healthier. Come see me at our next class of find me at the farmers market!"
