Waste Management & Cropping Systems

A day-long presentation on animal waste management and cropping systems will be held on Friday, October 28th, 10 am - 5 pm at the N.C. Cooperative Extension Haywood County Center, 586 Raccoon Rd, Waynesville.

Topics to include:
  • Waste BMP and Updates
  • Incorporating Cover and Cool Season Crops in your Cropping Rotation
  • Mortality Composting
  • Farmer Panel - cropping systems and manure management
  • Dairy Farm Visit *
Scheduled presenters include:
  • Ashley Robbins, Cooperative Extension Area Specialized Dairy Agent
  • Dr. Deidre Harmon, Cooperative Extension Livestock Specialist
  • Dr. Mahmoud Sharara, Bio and Ag Engineering Extension Specialist
This program is approved for 6 hours of waste credits, 2 hours X pesticide credit
