Thank you for your interest in the Extension Master Gardener℠ Program of Transylvania County. We have a long history of community involvement and education. The Master Gardeners create, support, and enrich N.C. Cooperative Extension of Transylvania County's educational programs. We need good people who are familiar with using non-biased, research-based information to educate and empower the citizens of Transylvania County.
Master Gardener Trainees will attend class every Tuesday from 1:00 to 4:00PM from February 3rd to April 28th (Full schedule is available here). Each trainee donates 40 hours in our approved community development programs throughout the 2026 calendar year. Absences are allowed, but will need to be discussed with Master Gardener Program Director . If you have any questions please call 828-884-3109 or email Bart Renner at bmrenner@ncsu.edu.
The cost of the class is $200, which pays for your textbook, state association fees, and a really nice Master Gardener shirt. This will be due on the first day of class. PLEASE NOTE: if this cost prohibits you from taking the class, communicate with us and we may be able to assist as appropriate.
