A great class for “shady” people!
Dates: October 10th, October 17th or October 24th (registration limited to 15 people for each day)
Location: Deep Woods Mushrooms- 70 Deep Woods Rd, Mills River, NC 28759
Agenda:
9:30 to Noon- Morning Mushroom Session ($25.00)- Learn about cultivation of a variety of mushrooms, get hands on experience and learn how to inoculate your own mushroom logs. All tools will be provided.
Noon to 1:00- Wood-fired pizza lunch ($20 per person)- Make your own with fresh local ingredients (plenty of shrooms!)
1:00 to 4:00- Afternoon ginseng session (Free with registration- $40 for ¼ lb of stratified seed)-
Topics will include: site selection, soil fertility requirements, site preparation, planting methods, production issues—(pest mitigation and disease control), poaching issues, security on private property, & companion plants for ginseng, etc.

ALSO! The Transylvania Master Gardeners will be selling copies of Jeanine Davis’s book “Growing & Marketing Ginseng and Other Woodland Medicinals.”
